They say about us
A small world of colors, details, and kindness from the staff. I love going to Nardo Villa, it takes me back to the Milan I knew 35 years ago. If you need a quick getaway, Nardo Villa is definitely the right place.

I now buy all my hinges from Villa Nardo. It's truly a place where you can choose any hinge you want, both in style and color. I discovered them ten years ago and have been using them ever since.
Valentina Guerrini
A tiny shop in the city center, located in an elegant and well-preserved setting. The workshop is located in the splendid cellars, is well-stocked, and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Great service and courtesy.

FAQ
What is a zipper?
Zippers are made of two pieces of fabric (strap) attached to small toothed chains, usually made of plastic, metal, or nylon. These chains fit perfectly together when closed with the slider. Two safety catches prevent the slider from slipping out of place even when the zipper is opened or closed.
A bit of history
The ancestor of the zipper as we know it today was created in 1851, but it only began to be used in the fashion and clothing industry in the early 1930s. Initially, there was a tendency to hide zippers under flaps of fabric to avoid their being noticed, but thanks also to Italian designer Elena Schiaparelli, the zipper gradually became a distinctive accessory to clothing.
Types of zippers
- Spiral Zipper: consists of two nylon spirals attached to two textile ribbons, the coils of which are slightly deformed (complementary in shape, so they remain attached once intertwined). These zippers are best suited to any use, from evening wear to sportswear.
- Metal Zipper: these were the first ever produced; the teeth, made of brass or aluminum alloy, are obtained by cutting and then clamped onto the textile support ribbons. They are less smooth, but generally longer-lasting and more resistant.
- Plastic Zipper: the teeth are die-cast onto the textile support ribbons. They are particularly suitable for sportswear and winter clothing.
Standard measurements
Zippers are produced in many sizes; the standard is as follows:
- small = central part 3 mm / 4.2 mm,
- medium = central part 5.8 mm / 6.4 mm
- large = central part 8 mm
- maxi = central part over 10 mm
Maintenance of zippers and zippers
To prevent new zippers (especially metal ones) from sliding easily, we recommend rubbing a little candle wax on the teeth, or greasing the inside of the slider with a very small amount of silicone grease.
If the zipper remains open after the slider has passed through, carefully push it back to its starting point, then lightly press the base (the root of the Y-shaped path) with needle-nose pliers and try closing it again. We recommend closing the zipper during washing to prevent it from deforming and making it difficult to close.
